Problem Statement

In omni-channel retail, customers expect fast, reliable, and transparent delivery. Our company offers multiple fulfillment methods:
Buy Online, Pick Up In-Store (BOPIS)
Home Delivery (parcel for small items, truck for heavy items)
Same-Day Delivery
However, business stakeholders often lacked visibility into why specific sourcing decisions were made. For example:
“Why was this order fulfilled from a store 40 miles away when a nearby store had inventory?”
“How can we evaluate which stores are performing best in fulfilling orders?”
This lack of transparency increased fulfillment costs, slowed deliveries, and made store-level performance hard to track.

Possible Solution

Build a dashboard where business teams can easily search by order ID or store to understand sourcing decisions, fulfillment costs, delivery times, and performance metrics.

Key Considerations:

  • The main functionality will be search which is kept in the first place. It should be user-friendly and intuitive.

  • Users can search by store id or store type and in both ways they can analyze the performance in reason insights.

  • Compare inventory between the selected solution store and the considered store to get a proper view of sourcing decisions.
